This Master Bedroom "re-do" was as enjoyable for me to create as it was for the homeowners to receive! With the purchase of a pillow-top mattress, the old bedding didn't fit. So, out with the old and in with the new.

Sorry to have been away so long, but we have been extremely busy at the Twisted Tassel! Beginning in June, I had the pleasure of having a college intern for two whole months! What an awesome experience. Mary Courtney Black, and Interior Design graduate from Mississippi State University, worked at my side all of June and July. She learned all about fabric and pattern selection, fabrication and installation! And not to mention, many other details along the way. Between the two of us, many pins were pinned and stitches stitched! It was an experience neither of us expected or will ever forget.

Ottomans, footstools.... foot rest, seat.... whatever your pleasure!! These three ottomans were all made from different beginings and are used in totally different settings. From family room to nursery to teenage hideway! This is just a sampling of what can be done with your old footstool or brand new stool to cover, name your pleasure.

This is one of my favorite treatments, the Pleated Valance with Finnials. For this one i choose a bright silk plaid mixed with a woven print and finished it off with tassel fringe! Over the sink there was limited space so I just shortened the valance and corded the bottom edge. This creation is in the kitchen and breakfast room of Rod & Elizabeth Veazey.

Just in time for Christmas

The day before a family Christmas party, I am frantically sewing to get the job finished. The order had been placed in plenty of time to be ready before December 25, BUT.... the actual time she needed it was 5 days prior! No sweat! Lots of praying, stitching, and broken needles later it was all done and ready to install! Shown here are Basic Pleated Drapes and a Cuff Top Valance in the home of Drew & Cathe Lott.

I have a passion for sewing. Some call me crazy but i just like to say it's creativity!! I totally enjoy taking a flat piece of cloth and turning it into a ONE-OF-A-KIND masterpiece!! The photo of the plaid silk is from April Montesi's kitchen. These are "roman shades" with a "pleated valance" at the top. The other is a "simple box pleated valance" on a board. This one is in Corri Zepponi's hall bath. From time to time I will be showcasing my recent designs on line.
